Ways to Make Left 4 Dead (and other VR games) even more immersive!

Rifle stock with attachments for VR hand controllers:

Same, but with a haptic stock to recreate recoil (and they're developing a haptic pistol as well):

Haptic vest (same manufacturer also has arm, leg, hand, and face haptics):

More natural and organic movement:

ETA #3 4/4: Another video review of the DecaMove, which much more clearly explains how it works:

I haven't bought vorpX yet, so to date my VR experiences are still limited to DCS and Beat Saber. This is partly because money, but also partly because I'm afraid other VR gaming will distract me from flight training. Not that it's going to stop me in the long run, but I've resolved to 1) make a successful solo flight, and 2) buy the Jetseat, before spending any money on non-DCS VR.

Of the two gunstocks, I favor the Virtual Rifle Systems model (the first video above) overall. Adjusting its fit is simpler and more ergonomic, since it's based on real weapons. In like wise, by being shaped like a real one it more accurately mimics the weight distribution and center of balance. What it doesn't have that the Protube model (second video) does is any built-in haptic feedback. Howerver, in response to a comment I posted on one of their other videos, VRS announced they are working with Protube to adapt the haptic stock to their frame. Best of both worlds! Once it's released. No ETA on that.

I have decided I definitely want to wait until I have the haptic vest before playing Alien: Isolation in VR. And maybe the omnidirectional treadmill as well. The more immersive I can make that game, the better it'll be. It's a horror narrative game that I'll only be able to play for the first time once, so might as well make it as rich an experience as I can. I expect it'll be worth the wait.

ETA: Adding this one, partly because the reviewer has bHaptics' face module as well as the vest, but mostly because it's so funny. "Shoot me in my face! Shoot me in my face! Ow! Oh god I felt that! Oh god stop shooting me in my face!"

ETA #2: yet another advantage of a haptic vest? Being able to give yourself a backrub.
