So far--not so bad...with CompUSA going out of business I picked up a 750Gb drive somewhat cheap and made that my Time Machine drive and with some minor tweaks to mail that I liked and Safari being a bit peppier than before, all in all a reasonable upgrade. I suppose there will be some gotchas somewhere there in the mix...sigh ( Read more... )

So what you really should have done is get a MacBook Air in conjunction with a 1 TB Time Capsule for backup. See what happens when you don't wait? (^_~)

oh...I'll likely still be *strongly* considering a MBA. It's a matter of being a early adopter or not.

I mean that you should have waited on a backup drive. I'm betting your 750 GB drive doesn't have wireless built-in (although it probably cost less than Apple's $300 and $500 Time Capsules).

The drive was a LITTle bit cheaper than the Time Capsules but yeah, no wireless. I've been wandering the aisles of the CompUSA every few days to see what has been marked down recently. Of course...just because it's on *sale* doesn't mean it has to be purchased! ^_^

A few items that I had an eye on finally were getting down to the price point I was interested in seeing but...the next day they were gone! That's alright...it will be easy enough to spend $ elsewhere.
