ladyaeryn had this up today and I thought it was interesting.

Ron/Hermione - Please no. Yes, I know he has a crush on her, and yes I love both of them individually, but I might well pull a drama-queen-ish cry-fest if they're the ultimate canon pairing. She's my favorite character in canon and I just can't deal with her supposedly living "happily ever after" with her friend who seems to respect her so little. They're great friends, but to me putting them in a romantic relationship is like lighting a cigarette at a gas pump -- a really foolish idea. JMHO of course.

Harry/Ginny - Eh, I could deal with it. I'd rather not have to, because we don't really know enough about Ginny for her to be the "soul mate" of our hero. Plus, her sudden character development in OOP reminds me too much of a red-headed Cho.

Harry/Hermione - Obviously, this is my OTP and I believe it will be canon. Even if canon goes some other way, I'll still ship these two together in my heart-of-hearts. Harry needs Hermione and as I read her, she's more interested in him than anyone else.

Ron/Lavendar - Why again? Oh yes, to get Ron out of the way. Silly. I wouldn't wish her on anyone, actually.

Harry/Cho - Ick. I mean, okay, cute that he had a first crush, but the fact that she dated him when she still had serious Cedric issues kind of squicked me out. I'm glad that Harry eventually saw that his "ideal" was hardly everything he dreamed of and I wanted to jump up and cheer when he defended "darling" Hermione's actions to her. ;-)

Hermione/Krum - The age difference at the age Hermione was at the time was a little questionable, but I did like the fact that he saw her as beautiful even without her spending time on her looks. His jealousy of Harry was also amusing. Nice "Mr. Wrong" for Hermione, especially since he has so many similarities with the guy I think is her "Mr. Right."

Neville/Ginny - My new favorite ship. I love the idea of "the anti-hero gets the girl." They both came into their own more in OOP, and they did date in GOF. I admit that most of my t00by love for this ship comes because I adore Neville and want to see him happy.

Neville/Hermione - I could deal with this. I like them both and I think they could live happily together. If Harry dies in the end or is otherwise paired off, I'd much rather see Hermione with Neville than Ron.

Harry/Luna - I'd rather see this than Harry/Ginny. I like Luna a lot even though we only became aware of her in book 5.

Ron/Luna - I thought her crush on him was adorable and I'd really like to see it come to fruition. Perhaps Ginny will point it out to him and he'll date her in an attempt to make Hermione jealous. That won't work, but he'll end up realizing that Luna's awfully nice to be around after all. I think she's perfect for him because she doesn't care what other people say about her and Ron tends to care too much. She could teach him a thing or two about that, but she likes him the way he IS, not the way she thinks he could be.

Draco/Hermione - This one doesn't even do it for me in fanfic. I just... I don't really like Draco and the thought of him falling for Hermione just seems too farfetched.

Draco/Ginny - Again, only in fanfic. It can be a really fun dynamic (and, I admit, dead sexy) in fanon, but there's really no canon basis for it. That's why I'm now shipping Neville/Ginny.

Draco/Harry - I don't like slash anyway, but I doubt I'd read this one even if I did. I'm sure it has interesting dynamics, but I don't see the canon for it.

Lily/James - There's nothing wrong with them, but I dont' actively seek out any MWPP-era fic. *shrugs* I hope we eventually learn more about them in canon. (I feel similarly to Anakin/Amidala. I'm glad they gave birth to their offspring but their romance doesn't really do anything for me.)

That's a long enough post and I need to get to work.
