Indirectness perhaps?
Along with the nebulous head tilt and head waggle (former is affirmative, latter is negative), often times people will not come out and say what they think to me because they think my image of Rajbari or of the country will somehow be tarnished. I had lunch with your father a few weeks ago and he informed me of the volunteer work that you are doing in Bangladesh. I was not surprised to hear that you were doing such a wonderful service to others in the world of the less fortunate. Keep up the great work.
