Well, I’m home and have been for a few weeks. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed again (surprise!) but overall pretty good. I’d say the biggest bits of news has been that I got a part time summer job for a few weeks-at a local pizzeria! I’m a cook! No kidding. I realized that I needed some time out of the house, because it would help me be more ( Read more... )

Hey there--

My friend Amy runs a home daycare in Staunton, and she's wonderful. She has 2 kids of her own (girls, aged 3 and ... 1.5 ish), and she's got another one on the way (January). She babysits a few others. I don't know what her rates are like, but I know that I would leave a child with her with no qualms.

If your lady doesn't work out, let me know and I'll give you Amy's number.

I called my friend Sarah who knows people, and I asked her if she had any suggestions. I'm sorry my mormon fishing didn't work before. I don't think I was asking the right people. I am currently in DC--and I have your book too! It's wonderful! I'm almost done reading about the Irish. It makes me very happy!

At some point, when I've got more than $20 in my account, I'll make a trip to Staunton and we can trade books. I start a new job tomorrow, so that day will be here sooner than I think!

On the tithing note--I paid my tithing on Sunday, even though I knew it would leave me terribly strapped for cash--and I got a job today. I don't think the two events are exclusive. I find that if you look at my income on paper, it doesn't work--but if I pay my 10%, everything always seems to come together. I think it's our way of truly putting our lives into the Lord's hands. And He has ways of making wonderful things happen.

So there's my two cents. Or 10%.
