After a long journey towards finding a coherent style for my bedroom, I realised that perhaps I will never be able to fully recreate the 'pirate/nautical' theme...maybe because of my beige walls and romantic pink curtains as well as numerous girly knick-knacks. All I can think of is using pastel colors and golden tones. I think of Marie and I think of über femininity. Maybe a few mirrors (because of the hall of mirrors)? I don't know, really, this is all just off the top of my head. I hope it helps!

I like the idea of gold mirrors...what about printing a picture of sexy Count Von Fersen and putting that in a gilded frame? Or if you have Adam Ant albums or stuff that mixes the glam 80's vibe displaying that if you want to mix the 80's glam with the Pre-Revolution stuff. I think the mixture keeps things fresh and not stuffy. Antoinette was fun and young and your room could reflect that.

Ooh! There was an article in October 2009's (the current) issue of Seventeen that had an article about room styles and there was a French-inspired room (mostly based on Coco Chanel) but it really reminded me of Marie, so maybe check that out! ;)
