Oh man, for almost a year we didn't even trim my son's finger nails, he just kind of tore them off when they got long. The fights were too awful.

Now he likes it and will sit still (in fact, sometimes he gets the clippers himself and gives them to me when he notices they are too long!)

Teeth brushing, well, for a while we were just happy to get the brush in his mouth! Now for the most part he will happily brush his front teeth, then yell and spit when we brush his back teeth.

Just keep trying - even just getting the toothbrush in his mouth is good, because some of the flouride will get in his saliva and get into his teeth. Our doctor actually has us give the kids multivitamins with trace amounts of the flouride for this specific reason!

Brushing is the pits until they are coordinated enough to do it themselves. My girl still hates it and fights me on it, she's almost 2 now!

That's what I was afraid of. lol I was figuring at first to just let him play with the toothbrush in the bathroom so he can get used to it (while we brush our teeth). DO you think that would be a good idea or should I just get straight to it. The dentist did say that this was the perfect time to start because he should be getting his molars soon (!!!) and the brush against his gums back there will probably feel good.

Ohhhh yeah! That was what triggered my boy to sit still for his nail trims - his sister was fussing, and he was like "Mama, do mine! I show, I show!"

Now both of them let me trim.

This stuff sounds like it might be good for him (tasty!) and it's safe to swallow.
