Only thing I can really think of that is that big post that you posted that had a lot of free ebooks in it (it's still in my drafts though, whoops). Of those, I definitely rec Scott Westerfield's stuff, though I haven't read the series that's in the post.
...Actually, now that I think of it, most of my recs are fanfic-based, ahaha. Um, if you have an AO3 account, you can download fics that are posted there in a variety of formats from pdf to various ebook formats. There's also FLAG which pm does what AO3 does but allows you to do so on a variety of sites, including FF.net. No I don't obsess over fanfiction, never~ *whistles innocently*
ETA: ALSO, Amazon has really cheap public domain ebooks such as the entire Wizard of Oz series for .99 each. There're are also a lot of free ones too - the first page search of "public domain books for kindle" shows me Paradise Lost, Jane Eyre, Grimm's Fairy Tales, and even more awesome ones on later pages like Tale of Two Cities, Beowulf, and lots of mythology books. I may or may not be debating
( ... )
Just finished "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafron and it was sooo good!! Started a little show but ended up suckin me in. It's one of those books that you wish theyd make a movie out of so you can see it come to life.
