They both have their good points, but I'd have to say I think dogs make a better companion. If I lived alone and was allowed to have one, I probably would, though they do take a bit more work than cats, what with the having to walk them or let them out. On a somewhat related note, Bowling Green has a leash law in town for dogs AND CATS. Which I'm pretty sure is the most ridiculous thing ever. One of my profs got a misdemeanor because her cat was picked up by a neighbor who called animal control instead of just calling their house number which was on his collar.

I'm usually a half full kind of person, I try to be optimistic and make the best of every situation/opportunity.
