Two days ago, SASQUAN announced that one of John C. Wright's works and one of the Best Artist nominees, both appearing on the Puppy slates, were ineligible for the Hugo. Today, two more authors, Annie Bellet and Mario Kloos, who were also on the Puppy slates, withdrew their Hugo nominated works from consideration.
If I'm counting correctly, this brings us to:
6 Puppy Slate nominations ruled ineligible (two Dramatic Presentations from 2013, not 2014; Galaxy Edge and IGMS are not semi prozines; one artist who did not publish anything in 2014; and one novelette that originally appeared in 2013)
At least 4 nominees who declined their nominations, in the Fan Writer, Novel, and Short Story categories.
1 11 time Hugo winner, Connie Willis, refusing to present at the awards this year.
9 lengthy posts about the Puppies from Hugo winner George RR Martin (time, as others have noted gloomily, not spent working on Winds of Winter), plus a post telling everyone to stay on topic over on his blog.
Countless announcements that the Puppies are going to do this again next year.
I can't wait.
I hope someone somewhere is buying the SASQUAN administrators some high quality chocolate and booze.
Edited: Make that ten lengthy blog posts from George RR Martin; he blogged again while I was typing.
If any more Starks die thanks to this, we will REALLY have words.
