Hugo Awards and other stuff

Worldcon was this weekend in Spokane, which meant smoke! Sad and Rabid Puppies! And an end to what I fear is just one chapter of the Hugo Award drama. If you missed the announcement, No Award won in the five categories with only Sad/Rabid Puppy nominations. Most of the Puppy nominees also lost in the other categories

I'm not skeptical, I'm laughing my head off at the very thought. The reaction of the core Puppies to this is "the Trufan CHORFs burned down their own house rather than allow us Wrongfans having Wrongfun to win anything", and they are already starting their work on what they intend to be a far larger, more extensive, more organized campaign for next year.

I don't suppose that we can get them to only nominate ELIGIBLE WORKS in the short dramatic presentation category, with perhaps a helpful pointer to IMDB, or am I asking too much here?

Are you One Of Them? Then you're asking too much. No one outside their echo chamber will have input. I would have to become one of them to have any influence.

I think I'm just a tiny bit too bisexual for them.

Which won't stop me hoping that they check IMDB first next year.

I wasn't there, this year. I watched a few minutes of the awards ceremony video feed. I commented about the stairs thing. There was a dalek on stage. Hmm...
