Does it count if I recognize all of them? And have them on my to read list? That I know the plot for more than half? Or seen the movie versions? :P

No XD You Shall Not Cheat *stern look* And this way it would be too easy

If had counted all those options I would have been close to 100, Without Having Cheated! I got the 27! But most of them I actually mean to read... eventually... one day... probably... >___________

Onedayism is a very popular reading strategy... And very good, IMHO. You should read what you want not something someone tells you to. By the way - what's your favourite type of books?

Oh yes, you should definitely read what strikes your fancy not what people think it's good. But classics have to have something good about them, or else why would people praised them so much and deem them classics? I want to find out for myself and thus they are on my "to read list".

As for favourite types of books, these days I basically read Fantasy, but I also love Science Fiction and Historical Romances. I'm eclectic like that!^^

What about you? Oh, currently I'm reading Bernard Cornwell's "Enemy of God" - about the King Arthur legend.

Urgh, 28.
How come there is no Virginia Woolf!?

It's a very strange list, I don't know what's the criteria for the chosen books and I think I've seen one of these lists that had Virginia Woolf. There's no Hemingway either.

Hey 28 is not bad! It says most people will have read perhaps six of these books, so I think we're not doing too bad. But I know the feeling.

Ha, right. :D
I was wondering whether I could cheat and make it 31, but decided not to. XD
Because there are still some Shakespeare works I have not read, Ulysses was not really "word by word" and Lord of the Rings even less... I know I might get kicked for this, but I find JRR incredibly boring. XD

*kicks you*XD I liked the Lord of the Rings but I must confess it took me awhile to finish it (the 1st time, the others it read more fluidly) and the rest of his works are incredibly boring, it's true!

I've only read one of Shakespeare's works, poetry really isn't my thing^^'

Hey, do I get bonus points for books I read more than once?;D

I may have to finally to this list....oh 25.

I want to read The Count of Monte Cristo badly. Too much interest from watching Gankutsuou.

I read "The Count of Monte Cristo" so long ago and seen so many different versions of it (a French tv series, a Hollywood movie and Gankutsuou) that I no longer remember how the book goes.>.<

Hmm, A History of Japan parece-me interessante.
