Most comics are slash; 'Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name' although mainly a generic story, is highly slashable, several times over. You have been warned. Have Fun.

Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name by Tessa Stone

Hanna Is Not A Boy’s Name is what I would classify as sugarcoated horror. It takes horror subjects and situations and puts them in an odd and a somewhat stupid light. Mostly this is because I fail completely at taking myself seriously. As for what it’s about, the best I can sum it up is it’s about Hanna, a guy who desperately wants to be a paranormal investigator but kind of sucks at it and has a handful of his own problems told by a guy who died ten years ago and seems very lukewarm about it all. That was totally a run on sentence. Mostly, this is about Hanna and his failings and (sometime) successes despite the zombie guy being the one telling the story. It is kind of a story about a person finding themselves because we all have to at one point. (the author's answer to: 'What the hell is this comic even about?')

Why I read it: Bright colours, check!; Awesomely drawn, check!; Cool fonts, check!; Brilliant (whatever the organization of panels and fonts and stuff on a comic it's called), check!. Let's see what else, nameless, glowing-eyed sidekicks, check!, Zombies, check!; Vampires, check!; Werewolves, check!; Other supernatural beings, check!; Dark (light and in-between) humour, check! and have I mentioned, it's so slashable?*sigh*
How I found it: So many people I follow on y!Gallery started making fanart of HINaBN that I had to check it out.

Oglaf! by Trudy Cooper

Comics. Often dirty.

Why I read it: Funny, silly, witty, gay, straight and everything in between PORN (well, some don't have any porn). It's awesome!
How I found it:  I saw it rec'ed in some places and went and checked it. Been LMAO ever since.

Paradox by Shea B

Taken as prisoners of war, Dake and Tommy are sold as slaves, one to a wealthy but kind woman, the other to a man of unknown species who has a very bad habit of eating people. Forced to endure the horrors of war, racism, homophobia, and the occasional molestation, can these two opposites somehow attract?

Why I read it: Well, first there's hot stuff Tommy, that has a wicked (read silly) sense of humour, then there's Dake, who's cute, has a bit of a belly and some love handles (that Tommy seems to adore). There's an estranged father, a missing (presumed dead) brother, owners, the owners parents, strange creatures and a whole pletora of other characters, a big world in turmoil, loads of action and a love story. It's Tommy and Dake's story, I hear they will marry and have kids way, way, way in the future (I was lured by a promise of mpreg, but I was mistaken there, so have no fear).
This could all be surmised by: it's cute, well constructed; I like it.
How I found it: I already followed the author on y!Gallery before she started Paradox, it was a logical step to start reading her comic (I sounded just like Spock, just now).

STARFIGHTER
by HamletMachine

Summary not provided by the author.

Why I read it:  Its tons of grey with splashes of colour here and there are stunning. Its extremely explicit sex scenes are just mouth-watering (after reading literally thousands of yaoi manga that's not an easy feat to accomplish with me).
Cain is harsh, blunt and territorial. Abel is needy, insecure and brave. But there's so much more than what meets the eye. Did I mention it's Sci-fi? Spaceships, battles on the stars, fleets, tight body suits and all?  Go, read it, I'm totally in love with it right now.
How I found it: It's silly really, I'd been to the author's page on y!Gallery countless times and even seen/faved some works from it, never realising it was a comic. One day I just happen to see the advert and clicked it.

TEAHOUSE by Emirain

Once upon a time, in the country of Ivore, there was a little brothel called The Teahouse.

Why I read it: It's a feast on the eyes, the artwork is stunningly detailed, the colour is exuberant and rich. Also, it's a story set in a mixed brothel; there's gorgeous guys, a cold bitch, blushing virgins, loud-mouthed courtesans, hot sex scenes, patrons that make their knees go weak, a stoic owner, an unrequited love story waiting to be told... should I continue?
How I found it: Through adverts on y!Gallery.

The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal by EK Weaver

May 16, 2008 - In the span of a single day, Amal calls off his arranged marriage, comes out to his conservative parents, promptly gets disowned, goes on a bender... and wakes up the next morning to find TJ, a lanky, dreadlocked vagrant, frying eggs and singing Paul Simon in his kitchen.
TJ claims that the two have made a drunken pact to drive all the way from Berkeley to Providence. As it happens, Amal promised his sister he'd be there for her graduation from Brown University. And TJ, well... TJ has his own reasons.
The agreement is simple: Amal does the driving; TJ pays the way - but a 3500 mile journey leaves plenty of time for things to get complicated.

Why I read it: This is my favourite comic and I don't think I can say exactly why I read it. There's TJ and there's Amal, a car, a road trip and... I might return to this one day when I've figure out why it's so made of awesome.
How I found it: I've been following TJ and Amal for awhile now, through the drawings of their creator EK Weaver (aka bigbigtruck  aka iianbe) both in LJ and in y!Gallery, long before she decided to start posting it online. When she finally did there was no way I was gonna miss it.
