I'm a Jack/Chloe girl, but I like fics that have their platonic friendship as well and you captured that very nicely!

I haven't read many Jack/Chloe fics, and this one is excellent. I love the idea of Jack being in charge after Hastings is gone because he feels it's his duty. He was the reluctant king of this besieged province. Wow, that's a perfect way of putting it. I also really like the dynamics between Jack and Chloe, and the insinuation to his relationship with Renee.

Great ending too. :)
