With a post this long, I feel like I should have some sort of a longer reply than this, but all I can really think to say is that I'm so very sorry to read this. With your school situation I'd thought you were doing well and were happy, and was glad for you, but now I see you're feeling trapped again. It's okay to be depressed though, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and it's okay to make "emo posts"... it's good to get all this out, you know first hand what it's like to let things fester.
Anyway, I love you, and I always will - happy Dan AND emotional Dan - and I hope nothing but the best for you. And if you ever need or want to visit for support or just to see me, you'll know where to find me whenever I'm around. :)
Ruts are so frustrating. Even if you are doing something to improve the situation, it never feels like you're doing enough. It isn't emo, it's just the natural ebb and flow of the optimist. We usually smile in the midst of trouble, but the crap fairy is bound to come along and stink up our rainbow factory now and then.
I'm not going to tell you to cheer up, because this is just one of those things you just have to work through in your own time. If you're angry, be angry. If you're sad, be sad. Face it, kick it's ass, and you'll come out feeling better than ever on the other side.
