Thanks, Julia! I'm going to have a nice, quiet weekend. Shortly I'm going on a hike, and tomorrow I'm going to clean up a few things around the house. I feel as if I'm getting my life in order.
The daily swimming is lovely, too. It's an outdoor pool, and they close it Sept 19. I think I'm enjoying it all the more knowing that it's a limited pleasure, and soon I'll have to invent something else for the winter.
The swimming came about because I remembered, snorkeling in the Galapagos, how much I loved it! Then I sprained my ankle, and it became one of the few exercises I could do. I really love doing it early, before my morning shower-- the community pool is right there, and I get all relaxed before work.
Biking was my sister's idea. She suggested I start biking to work. Yes, it's a little bother packing up my clothes and lunch into a big backpack, but I find the peace of the commute makes up for.
Thanks about the poems. I resisted starting this, thinking, I'm no poet. But they are each their own reward.
I'm publishing them here! I don't think of myself as a "real" poet, so I think I would be laughed off the block trying to send them to a "real" publication. But... perhaps I should anyway. For grins.
Oh, I disagree! I confess that, as an editor, I might ask you to tweak a line here or there, but I think these are as good as many I've read in "real" publications, and better than some. You've got the part that can't be taught for sure. Your imagery is awesome!
oh these are so vivid! I always try to jot down a few notes every day just to remind me of each unique day. Your way gives you a very vivid picture of a moment. Very nice!
It's a pity I can't be so motivated all the time. However, I shall continue to press forward and hope to find my creative voice again. It's been a long time in the desert for me; ever since 2008, I'm afraid most of my life has been, "What's the point? Might as well die now." Not very inspiring, I'm afraid.
Thanks for the cheer. And I'm really enjoying your trip entries!

But the daily poem gets me writing creatively again, for which I'm very grateful.
