I read through your account of events at work, and the comments. They were really excellent, Mariole. I hope things smooth out. Crises are always worst when one is in the midst of them. Hopefully this will be a tempest in a teapot. But even if it blows over, the experience will have been an instructive one. You'll know better who to watch out for, and what to watch out for in yourself. And you'll know what a tremendous reserve you have to draw on, in yourself, and in the advice, camaraderie and affection of a wonderful circle of friends, on line and in person. It was a vicarious pleasure to read the reactions to your passionately and clearly presented post.

> what to watch out for in yourself

You know, that was the most valuable part. Realizing that I wasn't living up to my potential as a person, and making a resolve to correct this flaw in my personality. What's the point in life after all, if we aren't striving to grow and perfect ourselves?

You are not kidding about this community. What an amazing resource-- so many fine minds who happen to want to help _me_. It's humbling, and a tremendous comfort. Here's hoping empest in a teapot comes true. Cheers!

Yeah, I'm in for the long haul. What will be will be. I'll give it time to cool off, and also be looking around alert for other offers. Let's hope I can keep it up next week when the bitches are back in person!

Now I'm not suggesting you take Sting to the Two Bitches - be assertive rather than aggressive* - but I just read this on Patrick Rothfuss' blog (referencing one of his characters up against someone else in an internet "fight") and had to share:

But vastly more irritating to me is the odd opinion that strength/power is the key factor when two people come into conflict ( ... )

LOL! I love these LOTR illustrations above. Yes, that is so me! I'm Frodo, giving up in advance because Sauron is frankly a REALLY big pain in the butt. I'm Frodo-lite. The kind who quivers from Lobelia and chews out Sam about how he's planting the taters (even though they're just fine) because I'm WEAK ( ... )
