Today I woke up to the following email from Story Quest magazine:

We are pleased to advise you that your story has been awarded first
place in our contest (there were 7 finalists, including winners). The
judges recognised a quality story, and you deserved your placing in

P.S. Just FYI, I started reading your stuff back in 2003, when I found it on West of the Moon. I still go back and read it now! You've written some of my very favorite LOTR fic ever. :)

Oh, Oxer, you're so sweet! I really had a great time writing my WotM adventures. I wish I could do more writing; I'm not cut out for an office job!

I'm not sure where the story will be available. They publish both print and online, so I'll let you know when I find out!
