I would be very, VERY angry to arrive on campus for class in the afternoon only to find out that there had been a lethal double-shooting in an OSU dorm that morning and no suspect was in custody.
I absolutely think that the ball was dropped in this situation. I do not think the police are to blame, as they had at least one goose chase (the female who was shot in the morning had a boyfriend who owned a lot of guns) but I think the university administration made a grievous error in not cancelling classes at the very least.
I don't blame the university. But they did a disservice to their students. This also puts the sub-zero days two months ago when OSU didn't close in perspective for me.
