Soapbox time

I just saw someone cite Robert Graves, Margaret Murray, and Doreen Valiente as valid historical references in an article on Witchvox.  Ok. Cite is too strong a term.  Name drop is more like it, since they didn't give the title of the work, much less any other information about how to look up their references.

I gave up on Witchvox as a valid source a few years ago. Occasionally, I'll go to it seeking an older article, or if I know a particular author has posted something there...but it's sort of become the pagan Wikipedia, imho.

Wanting accuracy in information about your religion doesn't make you a snob. I enjoy the freedom of being pagan, but that doesn't mean I can just make stuff up as I go along, and then declare it fact.

I wouldn't even give it a 'pagan wikipedia' pass. It's like fuff-bunny central over there these days. There is still some good material, if you know whom to watch for though.
