Transporter 3
It's not Transporter 1 but is better than Transporter 2.
I continue to loathe the current trend of filming fight sequences in close up. Statham is a big fan of Bruce Lee. You can see it at times in the fight scenes but seriously, what's the point when you find yourself saying "Hey, what's he wrapping around that guy's arm? His belt? When did did that come offa his pants?"
I didn't pay to see a kissing movie. :)
I very much enjoyed the relationship between Frank & the Inspector.
True Blood
As stated in previous posts, I understand that changes get made when adapting a book to TV series. At first, I found most of the them to be innocuous; the development of Lafayette was delightful even tho I figured he was probably doomed. Unfortunately, it got worse for me as it went on. I'm more and more convinced that they've done horrible things to the Sam Merlotte character and Bill's feisty redheaded childe? Puh-leeze.
I'm also thinking that Paquin's wide eyed Sookie is starting to annoy me...
I'll tune in next season just to see.
Brisco County Jr.
My mother-in-law handed me some cash for my birthday and combined with a timely Borders coupon, I'm now the proud owner of Brisco County Jr. on DVD. I loved the show so much and I was worried that it wouldn't be as funny the second time around - I've got three volumes of the old Muppet Show and there's been not a few cases of staring at the TV thinking, wtf... The pilot and one episode in, however, and it's still the great show that I remember. The first iteration of "He touched Pete's piece!" almost had me falling off the couch from laughing. I'm very much looking forward to tuning into the commentaries once I get through the series. A steep price, even with a lucky break of a discount, but so far well worth it.
