Hmmm... I think Bananaman was gay, I mean just look at him, and that name doesn't help much. Anyway point being, I will be completely un-PC and steriotype alot of people by saying that gay men are exceptional dancers. So, you dance like Bananaman, Bananaman is gay, Gays are good dancers. This all points towards you being a good dancers....but i've seen you and you're shite, sorry.

Aye, I've figured it out, The kid is a wee repressed homo, and when the urge gets too much for him, he whapps on his disguise and goes on the pull. I mean look at his bedroom, that kid loves his bananas !
You're righ,t it's so phallic! Does every kid's cartoon come back to repressed homosexuality in the end? Why didn't the writers ever just go to a Bennett's-esque club and relieve themselves there? Although I'm glad they didn't - kids TV was soooo good back in the day.
I'm sure you can find another drama deal that will give you all the fun and social side without some eejit making you feel like crap. The "cons" that you've given for the Apollo players doesn't make it sound worth the good points.
There are lots of other amdram musical groups about Glasgow, you could try giving them a whirl.
Take a look at this article from a few months ago. It's a real handy wee guide
On a side note, the guy who played Nathan Detroit in your show of Guys and Dolls has posted up a CV in our tv dept offering his services as an actor. I didn't know he was one of the wee squished guys in the Tennent's "voodoo" advert!!!!
Thanks so much for that article, it was really helpful!
Amanda C is in the lyric club, I could ask her about that. The Apollo's have great people and John's professionalism is brilliant (he always produces the desired effect, put it that way!!) but I just don't see me breaking through that. I get pretty nervous when it comes to exhibiting 'talents' (i.e whether people actually think I'm quite a good singer, or if I'm being irrational and deluded for taking a little bit of pride in it when I do sing properly).:P
I would be interested in staying put at the Apollo's if the chorus didn't get treated as sub-humans. Never before have I had a problem with being part of a chorus, but honestly, there are select favourites, and that's it. My mum's chemo nurse, of all the places to meet an Apollo, I think used to be part of it, or her husband or something, like years ago, and she testified to this favouritism, so it's not just an egotistical youngster's opinion. It's just quite depressing not feeling like you're contributing at all. Chorus

I feel I must agree fully with both John's 'arseholeness' and also his 'favouritism'. He really can make u feel about ... < that small at times (well more often than not really) and its always the chorus that get the true brunt of his bad moods. Anyways I auditioned for Modern Millie tonight and didn't get in on my singing (suddenly went from being good enough for Sentimental Journey and Fame to not good enough for this)....but was told to come bak on sunday for the dance audition. OOOOOoooooo I cant wait.

Ach never mind Mandi, on Eve's suggestion I'm going to find a new place to sing. If I find one that's good I'll let you know!
