Having seen Roger Waters on Thursday night, I went straight from work to meet Lianne in Camden for the start of the Mute Weekender (trying not to think about the 300-odd quid Waters and Mute tickets cost between them

It was absolutely amazing, worth every penny ten times over! My personal higlights-among-many-highlights: Recoil and Nitzer Ebb doing Personal Jesus (my best 5 minutes of this year so far actually, I just about exploded with happiness! :-D), T. Raumschmiere's set in the studio at 2am, Alison Moyet and Feargal Sharkey playing with Vince Clark, Alan Wilder walking around in the audience during Liars (I loved them too by the way) and hardly anyone realising he was there, and Laibach covering 'One Vision', which was absolute genius. I'd never seen them live before, so this was long overdue! Moby and Martin Gore both did really excellent hard-dance DJ sets too, which I wasn't expecting from either of them. And I always love watching Fletch to absolutely bugger all and just waving his arms in the air. As Maddie said, if he didn't exist we'd have to invent him. :-D

Aw, bless Fletch - I've never seen anyone look quite so uncomfortable and clueless behind a set of decks (I loved it that the tech kept coming over and pressing buttons for him), although as he gets older, he's starting to look worryingly like Gordon Brown.
I quite liked what little I heard of Moby and Hawtin's DJ sets, though I didn't stay around for them as I was too knackered to dance, but Gore's one I found a little dull, so I went an hid outside and inadvertently bought myself a Laibach t-shirt. :)
I didn't make it into the studio at all throughout the weekend, which on one side I was slightly annoyed by, but on the other hand there was no one I absolutely had to see in there, and I love the venue so much anyway that I can forgive them a slightly unfortunate lack of a decent sized second room.
Saw Miller DJ at the Numan/Foxx thing and while I respect him as an awesome chap all round, I found his set a little boring then.
