OK.
So, I've been reading the support conversations between Tiki and MyUnit.
Tiki's
half-asleep mutterings to Female!MU hint that Tiki's interest in Marth wasn't entirely... innocent. "Would you have wanted to be his lover?" Damn, MU... that's pretty tasteless. So much for "That Cute Child" and its take on their relationship.
Male!MU throws up
something more interesting than tattle:
OK. So Marth is Krom's distant ancestor from 2,000 years ago. I figured on that, once I got past the idea Krom was descended from Alm. 2K years seems about right for Fire Emblem's in-house messiah figure, with or without a timely Second Coming.
But then we get this:
T: No, Krom is very direct, he's the kind of man who'd follow the road he believes in unflinchingly. If you ask me, he's more like the Hero King's ancestor... the one from a thousand years before him, who lived around the time I was born. The Hero King was much gentler, possessing an all-embracing kindness.
Um... Well, according to my math, Tiki was born 1100 years before the start of the Archanea games, so that's fair. And 1100-1200 years (based on the existence of Naga) was when I placed FE4/5. Unless they're bringing in one of the other continents, I'm guessing this other ancestor has got to be Sigurd. He's the one who kinda looks like Krom, after all. But there is apparently a fair amount of Jugdral stuff deployed in this game (no, I don't know how or why) so a Jugdral connection makes the most sense. I mean, maybe she's talking about Hector or Ike, but...
Marth has a gentle, all-embracing kindness? What kind of liberties did NoA/NoE take with the FE11 script?
My headcanon did have a connection between the Baldo line and Marth. Hmm. And no, she doesn't mean Anri. Anri lived a century before Marth, not 1100 years.
And then she says to MU...
T: Yes... I'm talking about your spirit. I can always feel a gentle wind about you. Just like the Hero King Marth.
Gentle... wind.
Is that you again, Holsety? If so... why? No, really, why?
And WTF has Marth got to do with it?
