On July 25th, 2005 I posted the following quote: "Oh yeah, bought the Harry Potter book Saturday. Read it Sunday. Very interesting. Quiet the cliffhanger. Anyone think she can do the last one in less than 1,000 pages? 'Cause I don't. I also think that Harry himself is a horcrux, but that's neither here nor there."

Now, now - that doesn't really tell you anything that apparently everyone else but me thought wasn't obvious. I put it behind a cut anyway - so I won't harsh anyone else's deal. Sorry.

Good call. When I finished book 6, I also didn't think she could do the last one in less than 1,000 pages.

Now that I've read it, I think she could have done it in less than 500 pages, but couldn't bring herself to edit down the teenage angst road movie she stuck in the middle of it.

Yeah - and there's definitely going to be some readers disappointed in the lack of hot action between the main characters.... But I gotta stop talking about this book. Nothing brings out the snippy comments like talking about an HP book, especially if you don't us lj-cut!
