My least favorite step in all of this SO FAR is 'crunching numbers' with our financier. It becomes this dance between Mark and her, a lot of acronyms and finance talk gets tossed back and forth and I find myself playing catch up through it all.

I think that part would give me a permanently upset stomach! I'm sure it's both scary and frustrating. I'm so happy for you finding a place you wanted to make an offer on and I hope that it works out!

Good luck! Its beautful!! I'm intersted to know how the short sale goes! I assume your lawyer has to make sure the title is clear with no other loans or liens! I hope you get it!

It was really cool getting to hang out with Stan Lee and being a Hero! Hey, how do you know Mark through Live Journal or another board?

It looks really nice! :) South of the blvd too!

Congratulations...house buying is fun (sometimes). I just had our house re-evaluated, and it's about 20K less than we bought it for, which in the grand scheme isnt a big deal for us.

A lot of the fees on the loan docs are unnecessary. Most the time if you just say, I will not pay that doc processing fee or I want you to drop that signing fee, the company funding the loan will do it. You just have to speak up and know which fees aren't "real".
I am sure you know what you are doing since you're a lawyer and are taking all the steps necessary to get the deal you want.
