We have Lenovos at work and people seem to like them *for* work. They really are designed for people doing work - boring computers LOL. I have a Toshiba because it has some more fun features but our tech guys buy Lenovos as they feel they are good for office stuff. But again really boring. They're like the laptops you'd find at the library in high school - totally unfun but get the job done well.

Not sure if that helps!

not to be dense, but can you be more specific about what constitutes *fun* vs *non-fun*?

I have a great video card so DVDs are pretty and my graphics look great when I"m working on them and a really nice sound card and good built in speakers (toshiba is the only one with decent speakers like you don't mind listening through them although my OLD toshiba's speakers kicked more ass than these).

One more thing - if you do a google search, you can find a lot of info re: computers on zdnet. I found some comparison articles of different laptops when I was looking to buy my new one last year. They go over the plus and minuses of each one. It was really helpful and I'd point you to it but I no longer have it saved. That said, look for hits from zdnet or pcmagazine or laptop magazines etc. Good stuff.
