Finally the internet drama at Circus Jopie is solved. Yesterday someone fixed ADSL, which I couldn't get to work. But today
I had to fix the fileserver/mailserver for the changes in the network environment.
Well, I can tell you one thing: never enable network connections when the mailserver wants to send and receive several hundred messages.
Within 5 minutes it was out of memory and it took me 2 reboots to figure out how to process the email backlog without running out of memory. Basically it boiled down to just fetching 10 messages at a time and then wait for the virusscanner and the spamrecognition to do it's job before proceeding. Which meant about 35 runs of fetching mail and waiting.
When I was still doing these things together with Tesse, it was at least kind of fun to talk about it with someone who understands. But now I had to do the boring work all by myself. And that's quite annoying. I haven't even had dinner yet... But I went ahead and walked to Stairway where I'm now writing with the good company of music and a beer.
At least this removes the annoyance a bit. It's a shame none of my friends are here, since they come here so often. Oh well... :)
