That's a very interesting way to handle it. Poindexter and I do something like that when we're picking movies.

I heard a similar idea in an article or a book once. Like if there's a piece of cake they're sharing, if there's two kids, one kid cuts and the other chooses the piece they want.

My husband's parents were evil and just took the cake away entirely if the kids started arguing over who got which piece. :)

I'd be interested to hear the details of your movie picking process.

We do the one-cuts, other-picks for shared foodstuffs, but they daughters have figured out that it's easier to pick accurately than it is to cut accurately, so there's usually a disagreement over who will cut and who will pick.

We'll have to try your process very soon. Right now, we are still getting away with the following process:

Me - "Incredibles"
BoopaLoop - "Yay"
LittleMan - Silence
Me - "Dark Crystal"
LittleMan - "Nah"
BoopaLoop - Silence
Me - "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"
Both children - "Yay"

Winner
