Opening the Pandora's box

I tried out Google Radio on their 30 day free trial and found I really like it, but I also came to realise I can't afford to spend $12 a month on a luxury. I looked at the alternatives and decided to try out Pandora. Somebody had already registered an account on it using my email address, but it turns out it was easy to take it back by changing the ( Read more... )

I primarily use Pandora, and I like it.

Though I have been playing around with spotify, not enough to form an opinion as yet. I am to reluctant to try and rebuild my music library of like elsewhere. So, for the moment I am still using Pandora. I also use winamp to stream my Chillout/Lounge/Ambient music, on that type of music Pandora seems to suck. It keep lumping in New Age, and Muzak with occasion Dubstep. So, your in good company using Pandora *Grin*

I love Pandora since it is free! I did just get a truck and it comes with Sirius radio for 6 months or something and I am growing fond of that though not sure it will be worth retaining or not as it costs money and Pandora is so good. Just only have one real channel set up on there so don't have much of a range of music yet.

when it comes to listening to (and recording) music off the net, I use a combination of WinAmp and the Winamp Streamripper plug-in. The combo allows you to record music streams from Shoutcast or any other streaming website from which you have the .pls (playlist) file.

I simply use the local music repository, for the most part - I can stuff plenty of superb music on the iPad, and quite a selection of music videos. No advertising, and no need for a connection while on the move. Still, I do enjoy sniffing around various online stations on occasion, but I only rarely seem to get around to that. (I'm particularly fond of the sets rigelkitty posts each month - always well-chosen and mixed, and long enough for the shorter journeys I routinelt undertake)
