well, I had the meeting, but I remain unconvinced that they intend to DO anything to advance me. Basically it boiled down to "Bust your butt and do everything you can to make this shop work perfectly and maybe we'll advance you then".

I will be attending a few meetings every month, though. That's supposed to keep me in the company's eye.

My overall reaction to this is pretty cynical.
