So, anybodyy think I should become a dental hygienist? Good money, good hours, about a billion female co-students. It would take a couple of years, but... Maybe.
Well yes. Most dental hygienists are female. But I could deal with working dental office hours and earning over $1,000 a week in a field that's guaranteed to boom for the next several decades. I'm good with people too, so that's a bonus.
It's starting to look like an attractive prospect.
no...not really

I personally wouldn't. Sure, it seems great with getting to sit around in a nice air-conditioned place all day long, but think of it this way. Will you mind people coming in with unbrushed teeth or interesting body odor? Will you mind people with bad breath? Will you mind people who are deathly scared of going to the dentist and will flip out on you? Granted, most people will probably be nice and ignore you except when you ask questions on purpose while you are cleaning their mouth so that they can't reply. I always have liked my very sweet hygienists myself. But some days they look really bushed like they have seen one two many mouths. Think about it. You're going to have sit super close to someone's face with your hands in their mouth, looking down their nose (or maybe they will be looking up your nose
( ... )

Damnit. You zinged yourself when I could have!
And I was going to say how is that different to most other customer service jobs anyway? Interesting body odour - ever been in a hotel room after someone checks out?? Yeah. FTW.
I say go for it! There's nothing wrong with broadening your horizons. Besides, it beats going back to school for a bachelor's which most professions require nowadays just to get your foot in the door.
No kidding. It'd be nice if they left a signature of some kind. I can puzzle out an occasional mystery (RH) but multiple anonymouses make my head hurt.
just cause you think you can...marksreturnDecember 2 2006, 00:00:30 UTC
Okay, since you think you can puzzle out an occasional mystery, the first anonymous is Blue Eyes. If you tell ANYBODY who that is, I'LL...I'LL...I'll never post again!?? Oh, like anyone would notice. (I mean really this has turned into a way bigger thing than it was meant to be. "For crying out loud.")
I don't know who the second anonymous is, but obviously it sure ain't me. And I really don't care if you take my "advice."

Don't get me wrong, nurses are a vital part of the health system, so I can only assume so for a dental hygienist... heh murse.
