Excellent. I just need to figure out what is the closet bookstore to every person I know. That's on-the-ground marketing.

Walking distance. I'm a little jealous. Borderlands sent me the list of fun things to do in that neighborhood and I had a moment of "holy christ, is that not nirvana?" when I read it.

Anything happening locally? I still haven't seen the book in the wild yet.

Two weeks, I think. Borders.com is reporting 6/15 (which is the date I've heard from a couple bookstores), BN.com actually lists the book now (which is a dramatic improvement to ignoring me entirely), though Amazon is still playing hard to get. But I've seen reports from several places that they've received review copies. I know both the U Bookstore and Third Place Books have copies on order, but I don't know if they'll be able to tell you anything more concrete.

Sorry. I wish I could say for certain, but I'm reasonably confident that it's all up to the distribution channel now.

Hey man! I think I can make it to the reading. I'll drive part-way and take BART the rest of the way.

Any plans for dinner before or after or drinks after?

Let me check it with the Big Boss and I'll give you a final answer. But looks good!

There will probably be drinks afterward.

I'm staying down the I-5 corridor a bit, so if you're BARTing from some park 'n' ride along that stretch, I might be able to help you out.

Cool! Cha Cha Cha, an excellent funky mexican/central american/tapas/sangria restaurant, is literally a block away from Borderlands, on Mission between 19th and 20th. Great place for dinner or for drinks afterwards.

I'm coming down I-80 from Sacramento, hitting the BART station at El Cerrito del Norte, then BARTing to the 16th Street and Mission station. Any ride would be cool, but not required.

Down I-5? That's a bit away from SF. Where are you staying?

This should be fun! I'm looking forward to it!
