there's nothing wrong with not wanting to face loss...kayatkattaraMarch 4 2008, 16:22:58 UTC
the problem is when you refuse to face loss - the not wanting to deal is normal and human (for what that's worth). While it's good to prepare to some degree, in the end we have to mourn when we lose people we love - the trick is NOT to mourn them before they're gone! I have three books that deal with the issues of living and dying, if you'd want to borrow one to read. I especially found these helpful when my mom was diagnosed with terminal inoperable liver cancer - and, thankfully, your dad doesn't sound anywhere near that.
Life is always busy for me, but I'll make time for you if you need it. Our Paths may have parted ways, but the last time I checked we were still friends!
I'm sorry about your dad. It sounds similar in one way to what I'm experiencing with mine (the next big thing, be it heart attack or major illness will kill him). The not knowing how long when health conditions are like this harder (at least for me) than having them healthy then pass - it's the drawn out part of it.
Take care of yourself and your mom (and The Evil One). Whatever happens, I ask that She gives you strength when you need it most.
