the quagmire
is forming and
her knees slip
into uncertainty.
This was the same stanza Sue pointed out above, but it was this part that really jumped out at me. Not just the imagery and the the sense of knees slipping into uncertainty (internal wavering, losing one's strength), but how the phrase "slip into uncertainty" sounds in the mind's ear.

And yes, as a musician and sometime-poet, I get really geeky about things like that. :)
