This is around the time of year I rehash my love for The Thing. Its almost winter and halloween is even closer. What could be better than a snowbound horror classic! That and it stars Captain Ron Jack Burton. There are so many good moments in this movie. When they do the blood test and the infected dude's head explode melts into a venus fly trap

Ah man The Thing is so good. Thats a good list of movie moments too. Looking back, I gotta say Phantasm (or just the phantasm series as a whole there were a few) really did it for me. That ball that would drain people's brains, and levitate everywhere, people's skin randomly peeling off, and alternate gory zombie dimensions... The Tall Man... it's stuff of legends.

I need to watch Phantasm. I've heard of this Tall Man, and anything thats name is a descriptor is always good!

I can only think of that comic by the uzamaki dude when the shark is chasing the characters and they run up on land but THE SHARK HAS ROBOT LEGS!!

Dude, junji ito is the only dude who successfully freaks me out with horror comics. The jack in the box dude getting twisted into a spiral in the car wheel ruins me. Its not that its gore. Its disturbing!!!! The dude who twists himself into a spiral in the washing machine!!!!

I wanna draw that kinda gore, but I don't know if I have the guts! I will desensitize more.

You must rent it!! They have cool extras on how they did the effects. John Carpenter in the 80s with a big budget =P

Yeah, I have to agree about the CG stuff, I could die happy if more movies like Labyrinth and Dark Crystal would be made but obviously that won't be happening any time soon with Jim Henson gone. CG stuff just doesn't look as good as well done costumes and puppets.

Oh man. Labyrinth. I watched that movie wayyyy too many times as a kid, and it resulted in me being capable to recite every character's line in the movie to this day. I hadn't seen the movie in about 4 years and I still remember it. All that brain power wasted hahahah

Labyrinth and T2 are also why I name all my main girl characters Sara.

Ever see "The Stuff"?! Its a bit of a B-move satire type thing of the blob, the thing and a bit of encounter of the third kind/body snatchers.

Its so horrible is great!
