Also, a lot of people seem to be buying real estate right now. I think part of it is they're trying to buy before HST comes into effect. It doesn't apply on used properties (which I'd say is 90% of what we do), but it does apply on real estate commission. So I'm hella busy at work. It was a good, low-key weekend. We went to a friend's going-away barbeque where we all reminisced about all the bike parties and bike events we used to go to. The NPR Culturetopia podcast just did an entire episode about Nicki Minaj, which I pretty much agreed with 100%. I love their pop culture assessments.
If only there were some way to clone a Minaj-GaGa hybrid with Minaj's musical skills and style but with GaGa's knowledge and persona. It would be glorious. -

The thing about last night's Lost is that it was SO DUMB. And SO POINTLESS. The last episode was pretty dumb, too.
I'm listening to the new Sookie Stackhouse book (Dead in the Family) on audiobook. Delicious, delicious trash. It's kinda funny, though, when you've read so much fanfiction that you can't remember what's canon anymore ( Read more... ) -

I feel like I didn't get the right introduction to PKD when I was younger. Probably a lot of people don't. You watch Blade Runner and then decide you'd like to read the book, which is totally not like an 80's violent cyberpunk flick at all. The book is very, very different from the film.

One time I thought I had mono for an entire year; turns out I was just really bored
My mom pointed out to me that I might have mono. That would be awesome. I hope I have it all summer. :[
Pandemonium is making me want to read more Philip K. Dick. I did get A Scanner Darkly recently, so I can make that happen. I also got Consider Phlebas in the mail today (it only took more than two months for them to ship it). -
Good Hair
Adam and I just watched the Chris Rock documentary, Good Hair. It may just have made up for the cracktastic Twilight awfulness I inflicted on myself earlier today. It was like an extended version of Tyra's episode about black women's hair. Super interesting. I had no idea tons of hair was shipped from India to the States for weaves, for example ( Read more... )
