hah! wow, i wonder what the problem was. i can't believe they still charged you the service charge, though!

i didn't know a damn thing about my heater until it broke and thomas showed me all the parts. i had never even been fully up in my attic before.

i am about to start getting estimates on my deck and i too am worried about being perceived as a stupid girl... i had a coworker at the public library offer to "loan" her husband as "the man of the house" if i ever needed it, to be around when i had people like that over, so they wouldn't rip me off. haha!

i definitely wasnt upset about the service charge. i expected at least that. it could have been so much more so i'm good. i always remember my mom having things like that happen to her and my dad would treat her like she was so dumb. i totally understand how she felt now.

i am always a little nervous about having people come out to my house.. being a girl with a big house... i always feel stupid and inadequate....

sometimes i feel like answering the door: "hello. i am a 26-year-old engineer that bought this house on my own 4 years ago. i know how to fix it up but i havent had the money lately because i am finishing my masters degree. i am not an idiot so please dont treat me like one"

but i'm not sure anyone would care.

oh well...

oh well..

hehe! i want to do the same thing! "hello. i am a 26-year-old who works 52 hours a week at two jobs and i bought this house on my own two years ago." plumbers, especially, i've noticed try to pry out of me where the man of the house is. one of them even asked me if i liked my landlord. i was like, um, no, this is MINE.
