Ok, my titles are starting to sound repetitive : P Anyway, not sure how long this will be so...
My speech is this Friday... yipes -_- I definitely will not have it memorized in time... although I'm toying with the idea of ad-libing some of it, might not be the best idea yet. Don't know... Still plan to practice it at least 3 more times before Friday (if not more).
The Olympics are also this Friday, I already have a nice chunk Tivo'd to record. Albeit I found out that rhythmic gymnastics doesn't even start until the 18th, which is sad, but at least NBC is planning to show most of it this year~
Bought the couch (don't think I updated about that yet). The guys I bought it from were great, they delivered it and everything and I even got a coffee table for free~ (the main house that the couch came from had thrown out two and I grabbed one up and cleaned it, then put a sheet over it because I decided I don't like seeing glass on my eating surfaces ^^; ) Very comfy nice couch~ I've been enjoying it greatly~
Getting the iPhone Thursday morning (not Wed night, Thursday is when my parent's Verizon family plan contract is up so I can transfer my phone # without making them incur any fees) I'm so psyched ^_^ I just hope my 2 hour plan will give me enough time to not only get the phone but have it activated and good to go (I took the morning off from work to get it~) I will update more about the phone after I get it ^_~
JETS - had training weekend before last (the weekend of the last meeting), followed by an officer's meeting two days after and I must admit that I got overwhelmed and shut down. I've been avoiding my duties as officer and secretary since that meeting pretty much. I know, it's really bad - but I always get this way when it comes to 'working' after I get home from a full 8.5 hour day at work (yes, I count lunch time since I don't get paid for it : P )
Yipes, speech this weekend -_- But at least I can get a decent amount of sleep tomorrow night due to taking part of Thursday off (plan to go to the Apple store about 9:30 so that allows me to sleep until 7:30/8:00ish)
Watched Stargate Continuum which was awesome and also rewatched Live Free or Die Hard which was still the best action movie I've seen in a while.
Also saw Hancock (good), Journey to the Center of the Earth (fun!), the Dark Knight (very good), and plan to watch the 3rd Mummy this weekend.
I've been craving Indian food lately... Work has managed to convert me to it by our ordering it a few times. I still don't trust any entrees but am now addicted to pakora (fried fritters), and the puff balls filled with lamb or potato (forgot their names right now)... I also *love* gulab jamun - it's a mana of the gods type of desert and is always surprising to realize it's cheese as it just tastes like baked doughy goodness ^_^ Might end up ordering it in (ouch...) if we don't get it again at work soon.
Other news: I've managed to figure out how to get my weekly lunch budget down to $5 (weekend lunches are included in the dinner category as I don't separate my meals by type on weekends), dinner budget to about $20 (including something fruit-wise), and breakfast budget to about $3 a week (I don't eat breakfast on weekends). 112 per month... Not bad, but I'm hoping to get that $20 down as well, it will help when there's less tempting fruit out there ^_~ (read: watermelon, cantaloupe, blueberries, honey dew, etc)
