i think all you need is the latest quicktime player, if you have that then it should work on any of them jungle cats.

i can't get the latest quicktime player because i have OSX.2.8. and apparently, no self-respecting program runs on anything less than 10.3. not even skype, which would be a useful thing to have in japan.

eh, i realized that i can buy it from mac for like $70 with the student discount and my dad's gonna bring it to me when he visits in a couple weeks. this way everything is liscenced properly so if i end up doing anything professional on my computer i don't get in any kind of trouble. that's the logic, anyhow. plus, i've had my computer for 3 years and have only had to pay for a new cord adapter thingumy, so i think i've been pretty lucky.

the licensing of your operating system has nothing to do with the licensing of any software you may use for commercial purposes.
