Today is the first day that I commence official stepmother duties, and I am as sick as a dog with the flu. Not the best start as all I feel like doing is being in bed. At the moment the kids are swimming in the pool. A bit of sunshine will probably do me good.

We often hear of bad things happening to good people and I wanted to make something good happen for a good person. There are a lot of things we can't control in life (i.e., illness, accidents etc) but we can control how we treat others and letting those that are most important to us know they are appreciated. Your caring attitude and desire to help others is something that is innate in you and not done for any personal gain. I am lucky to have you as a friend and I know a lot of other people feel that way too which is why you have your own International Marnie Day.

That's lovely that the family is working out well and I can see many happy years for you both ahead.
