Ron is generally a very funny person although he can be immature in an emotional sense and insensitive. Ron is sardonic and makes wisecracks and things like that often help to relax his friends or make them laugh which very often is needed. Hermione and Luna though have both pointed out that his humour can be hurtful at times, even when he doesn't intend it to be; once Hermione even told him he had the 'emotional range of a teaspoon' when she became frustrated with his immaturity. Ron matured a lot when he, Harry and Hermione searched for Voldemort's Horcruxes and lead the three when Harry became depressed for a time.
Despite the humour, Ron can be moody and insecure along with argumentative; he bickers with Hermione on many occasions. Ron has a fiery temper and if his loved ones are insulted or slighted or threatened, this makes itself very apparent very quickly. He showed great bravery in defending and protecting those he cared for such as facing his arachnophobia when he went into the Forbidden Forest with Harry in second year to save Hermione and when he tried to take Hermione's place when Bellatrix took her to be interrogated with the Cruciatus Curse.
In his younger years, the Weasley's financial situation was something he was sensitive about and at times, he became embarrassed about it. Many of Ron's possessions were hand-me-downs and this included robes, books, wand and the pet rat Scabbers. Ron was taunted by Draco Malfoy for this. Compared to his older brothers and Harry, Ron was insecure in his abilities and the talents of the twins, Percy, Charlie and Bill and Harry's fame leave Ron feeling overshadowed as though he's the second best. Ron had problems with nerves involving Quidditch too even though he was mad about it, the Chudley Cannons and a fine flier. Salazar Slytherin's Locket revealed Ron's deepest fears; that his mother loved him least and that Hermione preferred Harry to him. He has terrible arachnophobia after his older brother Fred transfigured a teddy bear into a spider when Ron was a child.
Ron loves food especially bacon sandwiches along he dislikes corned beef. He talks with his mouth full which disgusts Hermione and once, in sixth year when Harry was late to the feast, she hit Ron with a book for continuing to eat even though Harry was missing.
Due to his upbringing as part of a wizarding family, Ron has a stereotypical view, different to that of Harry and Hermione who were raised in Muggle homes and at times it lead to clashes such as when Remus was revealed as a werewolf, when he was more shocked about Hagrid being half giant compared to Harry and Hermione and when he argued with Griphook over wizards not giving wands to goblins.

While often overshadowed by Harry and Hermione, Ron is still a talented wizard with a range of skills.
Patronus - Ron can conjour a Patronus charm that takes the form of a Jack Russel Terrier.
Wizard's Chess - Ron has a great talent for Wizard's Chess and taught Harry how to play whilst at school. His logistic abilities from chess helped greatly in their first year to pass Professor McGonagall's magically Transfigured giant chess game to get to the Philosopher's Stone.
Tactical ability/creative thinking - Ron knows how to think outside the box when it's required for example when he suggested that Harry use Felix Felicis to get Slughorn's memory and it was also his idea to go to the Chamber of Secrets to get Basilisk Fangs to destroy Horcruxes. In stressful situations he can keep a cool head and he's usually more pragmatic than his best friends.
Duelling - Ron participates in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and Battle of the Astronomy Tower and survives both. His main duelling skills become apparent from the Battle over Little Whinging onwards; he stuns a Death Eater while flying, something that impressed Nymphadora Tonks, a trained Auror. He disarmed Bellatrix Lestrange and saved Hermione at the Battle of Malfoy Manor and during the Battle of Hogwarts, alongside Neville Longbottom, took down Fenrir Greyback along with taking out other Death Eaters.
Quidditch - Ron is a talented Quidditch player, taking on the position of Keeper - when he was younger his older brothers forced him to take up the position as children. He made the Gryffindor team in fifth and sixth year. He was subect to nerves though despite his talent, along with taunts from rival teams.
