Video 002

[The video actually goes on and off a few times, as Ron stares at it, opens his mouth and then shuts it off as he debates whether or not he should say anything.  It's been an interesting little while and he's not been in the cottage that much, out on long walks doing nothing in particular.  Finally though, he clicks the Dreamberry on fully and ( Read more... )

People can arrive from any point in time, so... if a person is coming from a time before their death, it's possible for them to be here, too. I'm not sure how frequently it happens.

Is it possible for them to come from after though? Like, this is the afterlife or something for them?

Mmh... I don't know.

[Quiet for a moment.]

It might be possible? It could depend on your world, I think-- what happens to souls after death. Do you have any proof on that subject where you're from?

I don't really know to be honest. I mean, there are some real dodgy things you can do but if someone just...dies, then I don't know.

[Hermione slides into the chair next to him, looking at him in concern. Ron looks terrible but then again she suspects that her own red eyes don't look all that great either - too much time awake pouring over books like they'd give her an answer with random bouts of crying tend to do that to a girl.]

I wish I had an answer for you, Ron.

[Almost automatically he squeezes her hand because that's what's always happened and well, he kind of needs that even if she looks as bad as he does.]

I want to be happy that they're here, the pair of them but...it's bloody hard.

[She doesn't care what she looks like, when her friends are hurting Hermione sticks with them as best she can. Both of her hands find Ron's and she squeezes them back.]

I know it's hard. [Hermione can't even say that it'll get easier because that would be fooling them both.] But me and Harry are here for you and all you have to do is ask if there's anything we can do to help.

[He's thankful for her being here because if it was just him down here then he probably wouldn't be doing so well. As it is, he's pretty sure he'll end up crying again at some point before long.]

I'm glad you're here. They were your friends too but I wish mum and dad and Ginny and Bill and Charlie and Percy were here too, even if it's just to see them again one last time. I want to hug him and I want to punch him as well which is stupid and mental but...

[There's no way he's going to finish that sentence - he's not meant to be angry at his brother for dying but he still can't help it even if he knows it wasn't his fault.]

In theory I suppose it would work like that. If people are taken from different time points in their lives, then maybe it's possible to bring people.. from after they've died. To bring their souls and hearts back...

[Thinking about it that way, it made it entirely too possible for someone she missed to show up. If only.]

But it bet it doesn't work if they go back though. They're alive here but if they went back home they'd be dead and bur--

[He breaks off there because he doesn't want to think about that. They've lost enough people in the war but this is one of his brothers he's talking about.]

[That's.. Definitely not a good thing to think about, she'll agree with you there.]

I would assume everyone returns to the same time they came from. Or maybe it's chosen at random. No one really knows, as far as I've heard.

[Her tone is quite sympathetic.]

Think it makes this place a hell of a lot more unfair all of a sudden.

[There's a pause and he sighs to himself.]

You alright?

[Harry stares at the screen a bit before finally replying.]

It's probably as normal as things can get around here...I mean...Tonks was here when I got here. That was weird enough on it's own, but I know what you mean.

Just...how do you react to that? They're prancing around, laughing and joking but then if any of us go back home...

[He doesn't finish that sentence, instead shaking his head because yeah, it's weird and it's freaking him out and that's putting a dampener on how happy he knows he should be about this.]

[Have a little more thoughtful silence.]

You try not to think about it honestly. I mean it's going to be hard to pretend he's not gone back home but...look at George. He's probably going to go on acting as if everything is normal here because when we do go home....

[He pauses again thinking about Tonks now.]

When we do go home, this would have all been a dream, and not even one we'll remember all that well from what D and Takuma have told me. So while we're dreaming...make the most of it.

Maybe once it's really hit me that they're here then things can kind of get back to normal or something.

[It's so bizarre though, trying to think of George without Fred. It's wrong, really wrong.]

Yeah, I will. At least Christmas won't be short on jokes now will it? [He tries a smile there because this is Christmas and he couldn't ask for a better present really.] Cheers mate.
