Some Love for the Bathrooms

Some of the more dramtaic remodel work going has been taking place in our main bathroom, though our little vanity bath has seen some attention, too!

I hadn't thought to get a shot until after the walls had been ripped out - typical! As you can maybe see in the debris within the tub, the old tiles were simply white, with flecks of an odd straw color that my wife had never liked.

While the walls were open, we had the steel pipes replaced with copper, and had the 6 valve points simplified and reduced to 2. We also ran the shower head an extra foot up the wall, so we could actually get under it without slouching!

Our plan had been to put glass tiles in and we'd picked a sapphire blue, and something called diamond green, which just looked like good ol' Coke bottle green to me. Unfortunately for us, there were only 90 tiles total of the green color that we liked available (very popular this year, apparently), so we needed to come up with a pattern that utilized them wisely (either that, or wait an extra month for the store to be resupplied). You can see, taped to the walls, printouts I did on my computer, showing what we'd decided on. And yes, it used every single green tile we'd purchased, so no mistakes were allowed on those!

Many weeks later, the new tiles have been installed on both the floor and the walls, the new trim is in, and a new accent wall has been painted!

We're currently waiting on some new hardware to be delivered, which include a new soap dish and 2 corner shelves, and a new shower head, so things are close, but not quite there.

We have a tiny 3/4 vanity bath in our bedroom, which also got some attention.

All this area needed though was some tile and trim, and that was it!

We're seriously hoping that October will see us free of our current remodel lifestyle, so we can maybe recover a bit before the holidays come crashing down around us! (We're hosting my family for Christmas, or so I've been told...)

Thanks for taking a look!
