How can a song you wrote not be based on how you feel? Why would you write something based on emotions you don't have?

well it's actually based on how i used to feel a while ago. I was just thinking about it last night and idk it just came out. It's not how i feel now tho.

You can write songs about feelings. They don't necesarily mean that is the feeling that you are expre4ssing at that time. Thats why it is sometime therepuetic to write song b/c you can go back and write a song from a time that you felt like that. You recognize those feelings and get in touch with them, and then move on. I do it too. I completely understand!
