Check out Catherine Cheek's story, "Voice Like a Cello," now live at Fantasy Magazine. I just read it and really enjoyed this short-short. A complete story at 2,300 words, which isn't easy to do. Though a simple piece, this does exactly what I want a piece of fiction to do. You may like it too.

I usually put online stories on a doc to read so I can enlarge the print for on-screen reading (personal quirk of mine), so I saw her last line first. But it still gave me a warm thrill when I got to it.
