It does take time to be ready for another kitty. I waited a month. We lost Shadow on December 1, and wanted to get through Christmas. It was the longest in our marriage that we were without a cat! We made one trip during the time we didn't have a cat, and it was so weird not to have to get a pet sitter while we were gone. Nietzsche greets us at the front door when he hears the cars pull up. He checks for guests too. We had a party the Saturday after Christmas (when we only had him for two weeks) and he was right there in the midst of things (just like Moses). He sleeps with us most nights and in the morning he cuddles with me and boy does he take up space for such a young boy. I wish I could get a bigger bed but we've got a sleep number bed we paid way too much for to not enjoy it. We'll just have to work it out. This morning I pushed John over in my sleep because Nietzsche edged me over. Too funny.
