When we lost our furbaby Moses back in May of 2013, I knew it would be a while before we got another. Because I never wanted to leave him home and go away, we had neglected visiting some out-of-state family members. Also, because I couldn't find another that touched me the way he had. I'm so glad you got Nietzsche! What a name, though. Have you learned how to spell it without looking at it spelled out??? *g* I had to look at your post while typing the name! LOL. It's so nice that he's such a sweet kitty. That really is the nicest tribute to Moses to WANT some of the same personality traits in another kitty.

It does take time to be ready for another kitty. I waited a month. We lost Shadow on December 1, and wanted to get through Christmas. It was the longest in our marriage that we were without a cat! We made one trip during the time we didn't have a cat, and it was so weird not to have to get a pet sitter while we were gone. It easier to travel without pets, but I'll take having a kitty any day! :)

Yes I can spell Nietzsche without looking. The name seems to fit him perfectly although he does have some trouble responding to it. It's getting better though. He comes when he hears my voice. He knows I've got something for him. Have you bothered to look up to see what Friedrich Nietzsche looks like?

Nietzsche greets us at the front door when he hears the cars pull up. He checks for guests too. We had a party the Saturday after Christmas (when we only had him for two weeks) and he was right there in the midst of things (just like Moses). He sleeps with us most nights and in the morning he cuddles with me and boy does he take up space for such a young boy. I wish I could get a bigger bed but we've got a sleep number bed we paid way too much for to not enjoy it. We'll just have to work it out. This morning I pushed John over in my sleep because Nietzsche edged me over. Too funny.

So glad you found a new furbaby. He sounds like a perfect fit. I imagine Moses is smiling down from above too!

I'm sure Moses is looking down on Nietzsche. . . hope he is not jealous because we gave all the love we had until the day he died. Nietzsche is very much like him, except I don't think he likes cats. Can't really be sure. We have that visits us periodically and I've been feeding her off and on for six years. I'm not sure which one is the aggressive one because they are on opposite sides of the patio door. I'd like to get another kitty but can't tell how that will work out. Trying to think what would be best. Nietzsche is 6 months old and a male. I want a female. Going to get some advice on which might be better, an older Mother figure or a baby girl for him to care for.
