I've noticed that you can't reply to some journals because you're not yet friends. How does one break that barrier. I've seen posts from some people that interest me. . . how can they get to know me?
It probably has to do with their settings. They have it so that only friends can comment on their posts. Their posts may be public, but only for reading, not commenting. Check out your own settings to see what they are. Go to the home page, then click "settings" under "profile". Then click privacy settings and that issue is covered in there.
If you can't comment, and their journal isn't "friends of friends" where you and they might see each other's comments on another journal, I'm not sure how you can get to know them. You could see if you could send a private message to them (if they have that enabled for non friends)
