Me, me! We bought a fifties house in 2007; that first year was hell on the electric bill (heat pump), with some of the winter bills pushing $400. We had all our windows replaced with double-paned/argon (?) gas in late 2008 and haven't seen a bill over $275 yet in the coldest times. A/C months run about $200 for the hottest. I'm waving a big thank you back at you. Thanks for responding. It's such a big decision. And, I'm only considering doing my two big bay windows, mostly because I know they both leak. Price for the two of them is about $18000, paid off over 7 years. Still thinking about it. Still doing research though. But, they will probably say because I didn't sign up that night, it's higher.
