And it's why we can't be stingy where it comes to public education- and why we need to be more wise about how and where the money is spent (quite frankly, why does the administration have 1.5 to 3x the salaries of the educators?) It's preferable that parents be empowered...wow... even excited (!!!) to be responsible, for turning a vicious cycle into a virtuous one. It's so exciting to be a part of pivotal education...

We would have many more successful third graders if many more parents were embracing the fact that they are the real teachers of their children.

Exactly! It's so much easier to blame the schools for things that are the fault of the parents....
It all needs to change. Teachers are true heros.
